Optimize the double felted section for better productivity
In the double felted area, runnability problems are more common than in single felted sections. Naturally, drying capacity is higher, but long unsupported sheet transfers increase runnability problems causing a high number of breaks.
During rebuilds it is possible to improve runnability by increasing the number of single felted groups but decreased drying capacity often nullifies these modifications.
Poor pocket ventilation causes many problems that harm the paper making process: uneven sheet moisture profile, over-drying because of dry sheet edges, increased steam consumption and decreased production.
